Settings
Manage your account and workspace settings.
Click the Settings button at the bottom of the sidebar to open the Settings panel. It has five sections accessible from the left sidebar navigation.
Account
View your name, email address, and email verification status. The Sign out button is at the bottom of this section.
Preferences
Appearance
Switch between Light, Dark, and System themes.
Editor
- Default citation style - choose the citation format used for new projects (APA 7th, MLA 9th, Chicago, IEEE, Harvard, or Vancouver)
- Editor font size - choose Small, Medium, or Large
General
View your workspace name and current plan. Two usage cards show:
- Storage used - how much of your storage allowance is in use, with a progress bar
- AI credits - how many AI credits remain this month, with a progress bar
Storage
View cached files on your device, broken down by type: PDFs, images, and audio (file count and size for each). Kognific caches source files locally for faster loading.
Click Clear cache to free up space. This only removes the local copy; your sources and data are not affected.
If your browser supports it, a browser storage card also shows your overall usage and quota.
Billing
View your current plan, billing interval, and renewal date. From here you can:
- Click Manage subscription to update your payment method, switch plans, cancel, or view invoices
- If you're on the Free plan, an upgrade section shows available plans with pricing and a Monthly / Yearly toggle

Signing out
Click Sign out from the Account section in Settings, or open the user menu in the bottom-left corner of the sidebar and select Sign Out.
