Chat with AI about your sources.

Ask AI lets you have a conversation with an AI that has full context of your research material. You can ask about a single source, all sources in a project, or your entire library.

Asking about a single source

Open any source and switch to the Ask AI tab in the right panel. The AI has access to the full content of that source. Type your question and press Enter.

When you open a new chat, you'll see suggested questions to get started:

• "What methodology was used?"
• "Summarize the key findings"
• "What are the limitations?"

You can also ask your own questions about anything in the source.

Project-level Ask AI

Open a project and switch to the Ask AI tab. The AI has access to all sources in that project. Answers include numbered citations like [1], [2] that reference specific sources, so you can verify the information.

On desktop, a conversation list appears in a left sidebar where you can manage your chats.

Library-wide Ask AI

Click Ask AI in the main sidebar to ask questions across your entire library. This is useful for finding connections across multiple papers or getting a comprehensive answer from your full collection.

Answers include numbered citations referencing specific sources. Click any citation number to navigate to that source.

Conversations

Your library-wide and project-level AI conversations are saved automatically. From the conversation list you can:

• Start a New Chat
• Rename a conversation for easy reference
• Delete conversations you no longer need

If a message fails

If an AI response fails to generate, a retry button appears on the message. Click Retry to try again.
